No Trades Refused

Two friends from the local Community Playhouse were recently cast in a small independent film. Last night we had the "premiere" over at M's house. M is 15 and played the teenage daughter and Joe played her dad. M invited several of her theatre pals over (myself included) plus several of her school friends. It was fun, but the two groups kind of stayed together in their own little groups. Only Andrew talked freely to both groups, probably because he works at the local movie house and has met basically all of us in the older crowd before. M and her mother put out a marvelous spread and it was all too delicious.

The movie had some difficulties, but not with the film itself but rather with the disc quality and skipping. But finally we did get to see the film (very short) and I was pleasantly surprised at how it all turned out. Very, very cool to see a movie and watch people you know. Joe's in another film right now titled "Serial". He's playing the coroner. That'll be fun too.

Tonight is Mary's Tony Award party! Woooo! Probably gonna be a lot of awards for SPAMALOT and they might even be well deserved. I just hope it all isn't so one-sided that one show win nearly everything (The RETURN OF THE KING at the Oscars). Not that that trilogy didn't deserve their awards, they DID! But it still got a bit tiresome. BTW ... I'm a HUGE Rings fan, so please don't think otherwise.

Anyway, had to leave you with a picture. This time I'm in it! Here's a pic from THE MIRACLE WORKER. I played Viney (the maid) and the two kids played my children.

Mob caps are soooo sexy, huh?!

Comments:
Andrew has done several shows at the Playhosue, just not any recently. I think you and Joe (and maybe Fred) were the only ones there that he may not have met before.

The movie was fun, as was watching the original Star Wars with the crowd afterwards.
